The signs were apparently knocked from their posts during the storm, with a citizen finding and securing them.

Re: Theft from Fort Boreman Park

Three (3) signs valued at approximately $5,100.00 were stolen from Fort Boreman Park sometime between noon on 6-30-12 and 8:00 a.m. on 7-1-12, according to complainant Wood County Maintenance supervisor Melvin Swiger. The signs reportedly referenced the Civil War.
The signs were apparently taken during the power outage which resulted in no video surveillance footage of the incident.
Detective T.P. Wolfe has been assigned the case and is continuing to investigate the theft. There are no leads at this time, and anyone having information regarding this crime is asked to contact Detective Wolfe or any member of the Parkersburg Police Department at 304-424-8444.
