This morning around 1:00 a.m., Parkersburg police officers responded to the 2100 block of Camden Avenue in reference to a robbery.
Two males, ages 66 and 18, advised officers that they observed what they thought was the shadow of a person in the front door window. As the door was opened, two unknown white males forced entry into the house. The 66-year-old male was grabbed by the throat and taken to the floor, with one of the suspects demanding money. When the victim stated he didn’t have any money, the suspect began hitting the man in the back of the head and striking him in the side with his knees. The suspect then reportedly asked the second suspect for a knife, which was never observed by either of the victims. The 18-year-old victim then went to get an amount of cash from another room in the home, giving it to the suspects. The suspects asked about the location of the victims’ phones, with one suspect grabbing a phone from atop the television. Both suspects then ran from the residence.
One of the victims observed the suspects getting into a truck parked near the residence, which then traveled east on Camden Avenue. The second victim retrieved his phone calling 911. No further description of the suspect vehicle was able to be provided by the victims.
One of the suspects was described as possibly having brown hair and a goatee. There was no description given on the second suspect. Blood was noted coming from the back of the head of the 66-year-old victim. EMS responded to the scene to provide medical treatment, with the victim refusing transport to the hospital.
