At approximately noon today, officers were called to 407 Neal Street in reference to a barricaded man armed with a shotgun.

Uniformed officers arrived and set up a perimeter around the home, gathered intelligence from the man’s girlfriend, and called for S.W.A.T. and Crisis Negotiators.

Flanked by S.W.A.T. operators, Crisis Negotiator Detective D.L. Brown was able to get the 40 year-old male to voluntarily come outside and surrender to officers without incident around 1:30 p.m.

S.W.A.T. operators cleared the residence allegedly finding a shotgun with accessible ammunition in the dining room area on a table.

No other persons were in the home and the subject was transported to CCMC for evaluation by uniformed officers. No criminal charges will be filed.
