Re: Arrest Made in Lynn Street Shooting
Reference #: 12-PR-0193
Parkersburg police detectives have officially charged Shaun Michael Linko with felony wanton endangerment in connection with this morning’s shooting on Lynn Street.
Today at approximately 2:15 a.m., numerous officers responded to the 1100 block of Lynn Street in reference to shots being fired, arriving on scene within one (1) minute of receiving the call.
Upon arrival, officers found 1122 Lynn Street riddled with bullet holes, and approximately 24 spent bullet casings from a 7.62×39 mm assault rifle. According to the landlord, the tenants of 1122 Lynn Street had recently moved out, with the residence being vacant at the time of the shooting. Several items were damaged by bullets, including a water line that was struck after a round apparently penetrated three (3) walls before striking the pipe.
Witnesses were able to provide a vehicle description, with one witness stating she saw “fire” coming out the barrel of a weapon from the suspect vehicle.
A vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle was reportedly spotted by Wood County Sheriffs deputies near Interstate 77 and Route 50 approximately 20 minutes later. Linko was arrested out of that stop on unrelated charges.
Following the processing of the scene and interviews with Linko and witnesses, detectives officially charged him with the shooting. Linko was arraigned in Wood County Magistrate Court and is being held on a $50,000.00 bond ($25,000.00 for PPD charge, $25,000.00 for WCSO charge for possession with intent to deliver marijuana.)
