The Parkersburg Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating Richard L. Snyder who is missing. Mr. Snyder was last seen on 3-9-2017 and left his residence located in the 800 block of Broadway Ave. in a 2000 Gold Jeep Grand Cherokee (WV registration plate # 9XP483). Mr. Snyder has recent health issues that include the loss of memory at times. Upon speaking with family members investigators have determined that Mr. Snyder frequents Bob Evans restaurants and Walmarts and that it is not unusual for him to travel to Walmarts out of the area as far as Gallipolis and Zanesville, Ohio in search of Hot Wheels cars. Investigators have determined that there has been no activity on Mr. Snyder’s bank account and the vehicle he left is not equipped with On Star for GPS tracking. Mr. Snyder also left the residence without his cellular phone. Mr. Snyder was last seen wearing gray sweatpants and sweatshirt, blue fleece shirt, white tennis shoes and a blue baseball cap. Investigators have forwarded all information to the State of West Virginia Communications Ctr. for a nationwide broadcast of a Silver Alert (like an Amber Alert/missing children) which will be broadcast on the provided billboards throughout the state. Investigators also entered the license plate of the vehicle into the NCIC (National Crime Information Ctr) database which will indicate if stopped that the vehicles’ driver is a missing person. If you come in contact with this individual or vehicle contact 911 or the Parkersburg Police Department at 304-424-8444.
